Feature Friday: Blaire & Whitney from Peaches in a Pod

November 18, 2016, by Daily Style Finds

Hi, this is Lisa from Daily Style Finds.  Today, I am excited to introduce my two blogging friends, Blaire and Whitney from Peaches in a Pod for our Feature Friday.

These two lovely ladies (who just happen to be best friends) have great style, and if you do not regularly follow their blog, you definitely should.  If you are looking for some late fall style inspiration (or some ideas for Thanksgiving) here are just a couple of ideas from some of their most popular posts.  Whitney put together this stylish fall look - layering this awesome burgundy utility vest with gray.  Blaire styled this trendy striped turtleneck under a sleeveless vest with cognac booties.  These two posts are just a glimpse into their perfect southern style.  You can also follow them on Instagram for more daily glimpses into their style.

So, let's get to know them a little better...

1. Other than blogging, what do you do for a living (profession)?
Blaire:
I am a stay at home mom of three kiddos, and I love every minute of it.  Being a mom is my greatest accomplishment and I thank god every day for blessing me with my family.

2. What is something that people might be surprised to know about you?
Blaire: When my kids were really little, I used to sew and monogram a lot of their clothes.  I have a sewing and monogramming machine, so anything that wasn't moving got monogrammed!  When my third kid came along things just got so busy, that I just didn't have time to do as much.  I can't wait to be able to show my daughter how to do it when she gets old enough.

3. Do you have children?
Whitney: Yes, I have 2 boys. One is 18 mo and the other is 3. I adore being a boy mom, they are so much fun and I learn more and more from them each day, but they keep me on my toes! Advice for a new mom would be if someone wants to help, let them! This has been really hard for me since I am an I'll do it person. I won't openly ask for help, but hey, if you're offering to do my dishes, I will now gladly let you. Especially in the first few weeks of having a new born. It's such a big adjustment for everyone!

4. What's something that people might be surprised to know about you?
Whitney: I learned to snow ski when I was three and used to live where I could ski everyday. My dream growing up was to be a professional downhill skier, but sadly we moved and I don't get to ski as often as I would like. My dad and I joke that I could have been like Linsey Vonn, I love that he humors me.

Do you like to dine-out or stay-in and cook dinner? And, what is your favorite meal or restaurant?
Blaire:  I definitely love to cook for my family, but if I get the chance to go out, I am always up for it.  There is a Chinese restaurant here that has a Chicken Tandoori noodle soup that is my absolute favorite!  It's warm and coconutty, and spicy and filled with all kinds of yumminess!

Whitney: I cook a lot for our family, we don't eat out often, maybe one or two times a month. I love coming up with new recipes and putting my own spin of family classics. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen and my three-year-old really likes to help. My husband loves Mexican food so I try to mix it up a bit and right now we are loving cilantro lime steak fajitas. They are marinated in cilantro, tequila and spices. It's so good and the alcohol cooks out so you just get a great authentic taste. Just add some cheese and a cerveza and I'm a happy girl!

What has been the biggest challenge with blogging
Blaire & Whitney: Finding time to blog has been our greatest struggle. We are both extremely busy moms, and blogging successfully requires a lot of work. Luckily, because we share the work load it is more manageable than doing it by ourselves.

What is your style “uniform”?
Blaire & Whitney: We love a good utility vest, as you can tell by our Instagram feed!  Layering a vest with a cute top, jeans and ankle boots is our fall go to.
