Featured Friday: Meet Rena

November 25, 2016, by Katie {The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life}

Happy Thanksgiving Friday, Friends!  I hope to finds you home enjoying time with Family and maybe a little shopping.  Today on we're really excited to introduce you to Rena from The Diary of an Alzheimer's Caregiver, as today's Featured Friday blogger!  Read on to get to know more about this stong, talented woman who's learned to appreciate the good in life, laugh at the crazy, and deal with the rest.  Welcome Rena!

Tell us a little bit about your family life.

I am a wife of 25 years, a mom to two, and grandma to 5, including 2-year-old twins. I live in sunny SC with my husband and mother who has Alzheimer's Disease.

Other than blogging, what do you do for a living?

I am a Technical Virtual Assistant and web designer. I opened the doors to my own business in Feb. 2016. The Blogging 911

What inspired you to start blogging?

I started blogging in Jan of 2014 when the isolation of being disabled and an Alz caregiver became too much. I started The Diary of an Alzheimer's Caregiver. That's when I fell in love with web design and the rest as they say, is history!

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

I make strange sound effects when I'm working and I have a strong addiction to sweet tea.

What hobbies do you have besides blogging?

I am an avid canoe-er. I love to camp and travel around the U.S. and spend time with my family.

Do you like to dine out or stay in and cook?

I would love to say that I like to stay in and cook, but my enjoyment far outweighs my skill. I have a love/hate relationship with my oven and after 25 years of cooking barely passable food,  I prefer to dine out whenever possible.
