Hello Tasty Tuesday friends! It's Lana from My New Happy, AKA the cookie monster, for today. Last week Carrie shared a recipe for some yummy energy balls, and I've bought all the ingredients and plan to make them this weekend. But I'll probably bake these cookies too, because it's all about balance, right?
I've had this recipe for so many years, I can't remember where it came from. What I do know is that these are the most delicious, melt in your mouth sugar cookies ever. They are definitely not low sugar, low calorie, or low anything, but they're a huge hit at my house and never last long. Luckily they're super easy to make!
Melt In Your Mouth Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup vegetable oil
4 1/2 cups flour
In mixer bowl, combine butter, sugars, vanilla, cream of tartar, salt, baking soda, eggs and oil; beat thoroughly. With mixer at slow speed, add flour and blend well. Chill for 1-2 hours. Form dough into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Stamp until very thin with a glass bottom dipped in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees, until just tan around the edges (5-6 minutes).
