The Blended Blog Loves #17

May 12, 2017, by Sheila DelCharco

It's Fri-yay! And 'round these parts that means that it's time for us to share our favorites from around the World Wide Web! I'm Sheila and I blog at Making the Most of Every Day. Here are my faves for this week. Feel free to link up your Favorites posts!

Sand and Sisal

We are having new flooring laid in our living room next weekend and I am agonizing over what to put! This post by Kim at Sand and Sisal has helped and we decided to go with luxury vinyl but I still can't decide on color! I'm leaning towards this grey one or this natural one. Anyone care to weigh in and help me decide? You should know that I have a yellow lab so it needs to hide her hair.

On Sutton Place

What is it about spring that gets me in the mood to work on my house? This post by Ann of On Sutton Place makes me want to make some new cushions for our front porch chairs. Aren't those gingham ones so cute?? Do you get the redecorate bug in the spring?

Tall Clover Farm

I'm also all about working in the yard this time of year. Pinterest has gotten me pinning all sorts of yard projects! One thing that I definitely want to add is a fountain. My mother in law gave us a large olive urn that she was decluttering and it's been in the corner of my dining room but it's going to be the fountain very similar to this one I pinned. Here's another option.

Dominique Sachse

I was on a quest to learn how to make bigger hair so I turned to YouTube to see if anything could be done with my straight fine hair. I found several tutorials that were helpful but I stumbled upon Dominique's page which of course led me down a rabbit hole of other videos and I was hooked. She is a TV anchor in Houston so her videos are excellent. No "uhms" and "uhs" on her videos! And I love her positive vibe. She has hair and makeup tutorials which I desperately need. I bought the rollers she uses in this video but haven't played with them yet. Oh, and her hair color is my inspiration for how I'm going to add color to my hair! I've never colored my hair before but the greys are coming in fast now so it's time for a few highlights. I like hers.

I like when people share tutorials but I also like getting to know the person and Dominique shares of herself. I love getting to know a person! Here is her garden tour video which is full of great ideas! I want to buy lots of urns and pots to fill with pretty color!

Mel's Kitchen Cafe

This week I tried this recipe: Satay Chicken Noodle Salad. I made it THM friendly by using Dreamfields low-carb pasta and subbing xyliton/stevia for the brown sugar. It was really tasty and made enough for leftovers the next day! If you like Thai Satay Chicken, I think you'll like this!

I look forward to seeing what you're loving this week! Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!
