Fave Fall Traditions with The Blended Blog

October 22, 2018, by Abbie - Grumbling Grace

Hi ladies! It's Abbie here from Grumbling Grace. There's a definite chill in the air up here in Canada and we are hoping the snow doesn't start flying soon.

As I cling to fall, I invoke images of cozy sweater weather, hot chocolate and glowing bonfires under the changing leaves and blazing autumn stars.

My kids are still young enough to develop family traditions and it's something that we try to do both organically and intentionally.

Over the last 6 years, we've ended up travelling through the Canadian Rockies in September. It's so much quieter tourist-wise and the changing leaves and scenery is phenomenal. The beautiful weather lingers and it's become one of our favourite autumn activities each year.

Closer to home, we always visit an autumn fair in our little corner of the world. The kids run through the corn maze, climb on board the tractor train, enjoy a petting zoo and play among the hay bales and pumpkins.

Catch me if you can!

It just isn't fall until we get a photo of the cousins covered in straw!

One last fall tradition that came about unintentionally is family photos. Usually I'm just thinking ahead about Christmas cards but recently I realized what a fun snapshot of life our yearly family photos create so I decided to share the last six years over on Grumbling Grace!

Looking back, it's fun to see our kids grow (as they age us exponentially).

Here's our most recent family snapshot:

Thanks, Lovely Roots Photography!

What are some of your fave fall traditions? I'd love to add a few more to our family repertoire!
