TBB Reads: October Announcement

September 14, 2017, by Lana L.

Welcome back to #TBBReads, our virtual book club.  Our members are busy reading September's Books which we'll be sharing on September 28th.

If you'd like to join us, let us know in the comments and we'll send you all the information. The books for each month will be announced a few weeks ahead so you can track them down.  We spend the month reading and asking questions when needed in our Slack channels. The last week of the month we discuss our thoughts and do a blog link up. Changing things up for this year, we'll be going down to 3 books a month and adding a theme.

Here's what you need to know for October:

Theme: Books that have been made into a movie
Blog Hop Reviews: October 26th
Books:

Wonder by R.J. Palacio

I've avoided reading this book for years.  I had a cousin who was severely burned in a fire when he was four years old, and it seemed like this story hit too close to home.  But after watching the previews for the movie, and seeing how much the actor playing Auggie looks like my cousin, I've decided it's time.  I hope some of you will join me!

The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin

Sheila suggested this one, and the author's brother is a friend of hers, which is a fun connection.  This looks like a great adventure story, and Idris Elba stars in the movie coming out in October. Enough said.

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly

I wanted to be an astronaut when I was little (I have no idea where I got that idea, since I'm a little claustrophobic), so when Alison suggested this book, I thought it was a great choice. Plus, Kevin Costner was in the movie. Enough said.

Happy reading!
