Friday Loves - My Favorite Podcasts

May 11, 2018, by Sheila DelCharco

It’s definitely spring around these parts and we have been busy with some home projects, taking advantage of the beautiful DRY weather! Pretty soon the humidity will rise and it will be impossible to paint anything; nothing will dry!

That’s why we scheduled painting the trim of the house in April/May. We have a brick house but the trim and soffits need a fresh coat of paint. Consequently I’ve been binge listening to some of my favorite podcasts while I paint. I thought I share my faves with you!

What Should I Read Next with Anne Bogel

This is my favorite podcast of all. I love the format: the host and a guest chatting about books. The guests share three books they love, one book they don’t (and why) and what they are currently reading. Then Anne, the host, analyzes what the common themes are and makes some recommendations about what they can read next that would be in their wheelhouse. It’s fun and I keep adding books to my TBR list on Goodreads. If you like o read, you’ll want to check it out! Yes

The Simple Show with Tsh Oxenreider

Tsh has different cohosts and each month they focus on a theme for that month. I had gotten behind (thanks audiobooks!) so I listened to all of April’s podcasts on social self-care in one day. Good stuff!

Tsh also has another podcast called Women’s Work where she interviews different women about the work they do. I’ve caught  few of these and they are well done.

The Next Right Thing by Emily P Freeman

Emily has a soothing voice. Her podcast is a breath of fresh air. She chats about deeper, introspective things that cause me to think. Her podcasts are shorter than the other ones but there’s a lot of stuff to chew on.  She likes to say that this podcast is for people who have “decision fatigue.” Yep. That’s me!

The Lazy Genius with Kendra Adachi

The Lazy Genius chats by herself about being “a genius about things that matter and Lazy about things that don’t.” I’ve picked up some good ideas/hacks about exercise, cleaning, making salad. She’s pretty funny too!

The Bible Binge with Knox and Jamie

This is a new podcast by the duo who host the popular The Popcast. True confession: I’ve never listened to the Popcast because I do not keep up with popular culture. I don’t know the names of actors and other people in the spotlight. The Bible Binge is funny even though I do miss a lot of the pop culture references. If you know who ..... is and you know your Bible stories then you might really get a laugh out of this one.

Your turn! What are your favorite podcasts? I’d love to learn of some new ones!
